Maisha Mumtaj is a data scientist and researcher specializing in machine learning, econometrics, and survey data analysis. She currently serves as a Research Officer at DataSense at iSocial, where she designs statistical models for applied research and policy evaluation. Her professional experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (SANEM), where she contributed to large-scale data management and economic research. Previously, she held research positions at the Centre for Development Evaluation, focusing on healthcare predictive analytics, and at Jahangirnagar University, where she conducted NLP-based sentiment analysis and large-scale text mining.
Maisha has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications covering diverse topics such as public health determinants in Bangladesh, sentiment analysis in national media, and enhanced security through face detection technology. She was notably recognized as the Case Study Champion in the Youth for Social Development program, a prestigious initiative funded by USAID and developed by NORC at the University of Chicago and New York University, in collaboration with York University. Her academic background includes both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Data Science from Jahangirnagar University.
Beyond her technical work, she is a recognized leader, having served as Vice President of the Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club, where she organized numerous workshops for over 1,500 students.
