Position: Intern – DataSense

iSocial operates through three Strategic Business Units:
- DataSense – Research, policy, and data analytics arm.
- Junction Bangladesh – Venture studio and ecosystem-building unit supporting startups and enterprises.
- iSkill – A digital platform transforming TVET institutions through blended learning.
JOB OVERVIEW
DataSense is recruiting an Intern under its Internship Program. The selected candidate will work alongside experienced researchers and consultants, gaining hands-on exposure to research, data, consulting, and project implementation through live projects and professional mentorship. The position demands academic rigor, commitment, and creativity.
INTERNSHIP TERMS
This is a 4-month internship, extendable based on mutual discussion between the intern and management. Interns who perform well may be offered a full-time position within the organization, subject to the management’s discretion and business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct secondary research, literature reviews, desk research, and source synthesis.
- Support research design, research instruments, and data collection.
- Assist with fieldwork, interviews, and focus group discussions, where required.
- Support data entry, cleaning, coding, validation, management, and basic analysis.
- Contribute reports, policy briefs, presentations, proposals, and other project deliverables.
- Support project coordination, documentation, and tracking.
- Conduct market, sector, and organizational research for business development.
- Perform other project-related tasks as required.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Strong interest in research, consulting, data, and evidence-based problem solving.
- Strong research, analytical, critical thinking, and synthesis skills.
- Good command of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Bangla.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn and work across different subject areas.
- Ability to support the Business Development team with various activities, as and when needed.
- Proficiency in R, Stata, Python, SPSS, quantitative/qualitative research methods, or data visualization will be an advantage.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement) in Economics, Statistics, Sociology, Development Studies, Business, Finance, Public Policy, Data Science, or another relevant discipline from a recognized university. Only candidates who have already graduated will be considered.

REMUNERATION
Monthly remuneration of BDT 10,000
