The report of the Labor Reform Commission was handed over to the Honorable Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus on 21 April, 2025. The Commission was led by Syed Sultan Uddin Ahmed, Chief of the Commission and Executive Director, Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS).
The government of Bangladesh formed five new reform commissions, including the Labour Reform Commission (LRC), on November 17, 2024. The mandate of the Commission was to safeguard labor rights while ensuring the well-being of workers
The Commission included distinguished representatives from labor, employers, and civil society:
