Consumer insight collection for Folia water with BOP innovation

BOP innovation center along with iSocial has been implementing services within the partnership that BOP has established with Folia Water – a USA based company that produces a low cost and low tech water filter for BOP households that do not have access to safe water. BOP is currently leading the preparation for a sales trial for Folia water in rural Bangladesh for which iSocial will act as a service provider that can implement activities for consumer insight collection, activities and sales. The primary objective of this trial is to demonstrate that there is a demand for the product in the Bangladesh rural market.

The service is mainly organized in two work streams. Firstly, isocial’s sales network will conduct 16 FGDs with 40 consumers in total, as well as 20 in-home trials with 20 unique households (selected from the FGDs).

Upon receiving all research data and insights from work stream 1, BOP and Folia water will further refine the marketing materials and prepare the marketing and sales activities for the sales trial. This 3 month sales trial aims to demonstrate that there is sufficient demand (acceptable conversion ratios), sustained behavior change (acceptable repeated use) and positive impact on livelihoods of consumers.
